Nydia Acevedo Perez is a bilingual Home Visitor with Children’s Wisconsin and an active member of the Roots4Change (R4C) Cooperative, where she contributes to community-led efforts advancing maternal and child health for Latino and Indigenous families.

Nydia brings a trauma-informed, culturally grounded approach to her work, rooted in her lived experience and deep commitment to community care. Through her role as a home visitor, she supports families with young children by strengthening parent-child relationships, promoting early childhood development, and connecting caregivers to resources that support long-term well-being.

She has extensive training in the Protective Factors Framework, child development screening (ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2), and child abuse prevention, as well as in recognizing and responding to intimate partner violence. Her background also includes prenatal and wraparound family support, family goal-setting, and culturally and linguistically appropriate services allowing her to provide holistic, respectful, and empowering support to families navigating complex systems.As a doula in training, Nydia is expanding her practice to support families across the prenatal, birth, and postpartum journey. Through her work with Roots4Change, she is part of a growing movement of community health workers and doulas building culturally responsive, community-driven models of care that honor tradition, promote autonomy, and advance health equity.
