Why Choose Roots4Change?
Comprehensive support focused on your reality
We are your community.
Roots4Change Coop was born from the need to create spaces where women and mothers can share knowledge, rituals, traditions, and power. As Latina and immigrant community-based doulas, our mission is to support the transformational thresholds experienced during the perinatal, birth, and postpartum journeys. We focus on walking alongside immigrant Latinas/e and heritage Latinas with care rooted in the rich and beautiful cultures of our communities.
Perinatal care with R4C feels like being accompanied by someone who sees you fully, your circumstances, your history, and your story in the making. At the same time, the community-based doula supporting you is held by the entire collective, as we serve as a web of knowledge, guidance, and resources.

Testimonials
The work that many doulas do is an incredible job, we will always be very grateful for the support you have given us, we will never forget how much you supported us. When my son grows up, I will tell him about this beautiful experience and about the first person who carried him in her arms. God bless you all! You are very much appreciated and again thank you very much! The work you do is a great act of love and kindness!

I just wanted to thank you for the great support you gave me during my pregnancy and during my labor. I could not have done it without you, your attention, your support, and your advice. I am so grateful to you and I am so glad that despite everything, you never gave up on me, you gave me the strength I needed when I thought I couldn’t, and you helped me achieve my goal no matter how hard it was. You will always have a very special place in our hearts!

My experience with the doulas was really cozy. I always felt accompanied, as if they were my best friends for a long time, and the most wonderful thing was when they were going to do my cesarean at 2:55am. They were accompanying me without separating from me, I adore them and I recommend them! I am very grateful to them for being in such a special moment as the birth of my baby! I adore them! Thank you!

Frequently Asked
Questions
What type of organization is R4C?
Roots4Change Cooperative is a marketing cooperative owned and operated by member LLCs. Incorporated in the State of Wisconsin in 2018, we are the only Latina/Indigenous and immigrant-owned cooperative of community-based doulas in the state.
Each member contributes a wealth of knowledge, lived experience, and years of community work across a wide spectrum of services. Every member holds a vote and shares responsibility for the financial and programmatic well-being of the cooperative.
You describe yourself as community-based doulas, what does this mean?
We have been actively working with immigrant, indigenous and Latina/e women since the birth of our co-op in 2018. Our team was born out of a need for representation that goes beyond the norm. We prioritize cultural, linguistic, and experiential representation that understands the nuances of language and the historical backgrounds that shape our journeys. Over the years, we have become part of the community that supports the client and her/their family during the transition to motherhood and parenthood. How do I know if my Quartz plan covers these services?
There are two ways you can verify your coverage:
- You can check your Benefit Package with Quartz.
- Fill out the “Let’s Get Started” form- we can check your benefit eligibility.
What is the process after I fill out the “Let’s Get Started” form?
- One of our doulas will contact you within 48 hours. Please be sure to fill out the “Sharing of Information” clause in our intake form.
- We will contact you three times using your preferred method as stated in the intake form. If we are unable to reach you after three attempts, we will save your intake form for one month. After the one month mark, your file will be closed automatically but you can reach us via phone (608- 520-0408) or email (soporte@roots4change.coop) to re-open your file.
Can I choose my doula?
As a cooperative, we assign contracts to our members in an equitable way, so you will likely be matched with a community-based doula during the intake process. Because the relationship with your community-based doula is key, you may request to speak with another member if you feel it necessary. In this case, we will ask you to complete a short survey to help us understand the reason, as part of our quality control process.
Our goal is to ensure you receive exceptional support. To maintain the highest quality of care, doulas have the opportunity to assess their capacity and ability to meet each member’s needs fully. If a doula determines that they may not be able to provide the support you need for your unique situation, we will gently and efficiently arrange your care with a different doula from our team.
What if I want services that aren't covered by Quartz?
We provide a wide array of additional services that may not be covered by your Quartz plan. These services will need to be paid for out of pocket.
What languages do your doulas speak?
All of our doulas are fluent in Spanish (native language) and English.
